This Chronology is a summary of the social and economic development of New South Wales (NSW) prior to 1900.
It will assist you if you are undertaking family history or are interested in the history of NSW. You will gain an appreciation of the dynamics that led to the development of NSW and what was happening in the lifetime of your ancestor.
The convict transport ships that brought convicts to NSW are featured in this Chronology. History Services NSW has researched the history of all convicts who were transported to NSW on these ships.
While every care has been taken in compiling the Chronology, it is not claimed that it contains every item of relevance to the history of NSW, or that it contains no errors.
